Trying to download the update for Peachtree Complete Accounting 2005. Download appears to work but when it gets to the end it says Error Code 36 download not complete or something like that.
Does anyone know what error code 36 means? Thanks!

Here is an excerpt from Peachtree's Knowledgebase that addresses this error message.
During the installation of a Peachtree Update, I received Error 36 or Error 15
Question
During the installation of a Peachtree Update, I received Error 36 or Error 15. How do I correct this?
Answer
To correct the above error message follow the steps below:
When a patch installation fails, a file called patch.err is created. This file will be located in the data path.
If you are unsure of the location of your datapath, do the following:
From the Start menu, choose Search For Files or Folders
Locate the name of your product below and enter the text in bold in the Search field:
If you are using Peachtree Complete Accounting search for pcw*.ini
If you are using Peachtree Accounting search for paw*.ini
If you are using Peachtree First Accounting search for pfa*.ini
If you are using Peachtree Premium Accounting search for ppa*.ini
If you are using Peachtree Premium Accounting Accountants' search for ppaa*.ini
If you are using Peachtree Premium Accounting for Manufacturing search for ppam*.ini
If you are using Peachtree Premium Accounting for Distribution search for ppad*.ini
Find the ini file that corresponds with the release of the program you are attempting to update. If you find multiple ini files, select the ini file with the highest number.
Open the ini file by double clicking on the file.
Find the line that reads “DATAPATH=”. This is the location of the files that you are attempting to update.
Below is an example of the datapath section of a pcw120.ini file:
; The DATAPATH is where the errorlog, the help file, the form files, and the
; OPTIONS.DAT file are found. In addition, each set of "Company Data" is
; located in its own subdirectory off of this DATAPATH. The default value
; is "C:\Progra~1\Peacht~1\Company".
DATAPATH=C:\Progra~1\Peacht~1\Company
Open Windows Explorer and select the drive letter listed in the datapath line.
After selecting the drive letter, go to Tools, Find, Files or folders. Search for the file named patch.err.
Double click on the patch.err file. If you get the “Open With” window, choose Notepad. This file shows the path and the file name that the patch update failed on. Write down the path and file names listed in the patch.err file for future reference.
Note If the error occurs in status.dat, make sure all computers on the network are completely out of Peachtree. Be sure to give the computers a few minutes to finish closing the program. Then try to install the patch again. If the error still occurs, continue with the following steps.
Uninstall Peachtree.
Search for and delete the file(s) listed in the patch.err that were written down in step 5.
Reinstall the entire Peachtree program from the original CD.
If the patch was originally downloaded, then download the patch update again. If the patch update was sent to you on cd, then it is not necessary to download the patch again.
Reinstall the patch update.

Found the patch.err. It says Entry: C:\PROGRA~1\PEACHT~1\Basics.dll
error ept0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.
Do I need to uninstall Peachtree or just ignore the update since maybe it doesn't apply to what I'm using since an old file wasn't found?
