View Full Version : Remote Multi-User Access

In looking at past posts, it appears that Peachtree users really like GoToMyPC for remote access. But most of the posts I've read appear to involve one user accessing his/her PC remotely.
I'm looking for a solution that would allow one user to work at the desktop system at the same time that one or more remote users access and work in the same Peachtree company. Of course, we would have a Peachtree multi-user license--so that if these users were all working in the same office utilizing a local network, it would not be a problem.
The real question ---does GoToMyPC allow multiple remote users to access the same application on the same computer at the same time that someone is working on that computer? If so, would the performance be acceptable assuming data entry (adding/updating purchase orders / sales orders, other transactions) by remote users (we would definitely be using highspeed internet access).
If not.... what would be the appropriate solution to ensure a stable environment?
Thanks.

Hi Suzy I see 19 views with 0 replies ?
I don't think it can be done.
I have started to use REAL VNC for remote, and I like it better that GTMPC and even better than Remote Desktop XP. ( which doesnot function with PT2006 non-premium). That is why I switched to VNC. You would need in my opinion different machines on your LAN to log into simultaneously.

Windows Terminal Server and Peachtree Premium 2006 is the only supported means that I know of having multiple users log into the same computer and use Peachtree simultaneously. You can make Terminal Server work with previous versions of Peachtree, but you can't get help directly from Peachtree with this.

Thanks for the replies..
David, do you or anyone you know have firsthand experience in setting up and/or using Peachtree 2006 with Terminal Services? I'd like to get into contact with someone directly reqarding what exactly is involved in getting it up and working.... preferably, someone that has successfully done it, actively uses it and is happy with the result. I may want to "contract out" this part of the project....if someone knows of such a person/company.
Thanks. Suzy

I have attempted to post a Peachtree knowledgebase document on How to Setup Peachtree Premium Accounting on Windows Terminal Server, however, the PDF file, even compressed using Winzip proves to be too large to upload based on the rules.
This document is available from Peachtree's Knowledgebase.
You can further check with your local Peachtree Certified Consultant(s) for a response to your posted questions. They are listed on Peachtree Software's website. www.peachtree.com/support. Look under the heading local support and your state.
My personal experience is limited but very positive nonetheless. We have setup Peachtree using Windows Terminal Server for a firm of CPA's and their feedback over a two year period has been very favorable. We originally set them up under a Beta agreement with Peachtree using Peachtree Premium Accounting for Accountants 2005.
