We are having a lot of crashes while working in the accounting software. I was worried that it may be a communication problem with the server since our data is stored on the server (running NT server - which we connect to as an NT domain). So, I moved all of the data files to my local drive and changed my default location in the .ini file for P'tree. For a week this worked fine with no crashes! I then moved the files back to the Server, and it seemed to work ok even then. But after a couple of days it is back to the same old routine. Whenever I am processing payroll it is at its worst and locks up every couple of checks that I do. Is there any known problems having to do with data files under the NT domain configuration? Or known network problems that I may not be familiar with? The PC I am using is a Dell Optiplex 150 that I believe is about 800Mhz and I know it only has 128MB of RAM. NIC is a linksys. Any suggestions will be tried, Thanks.
