View Full Version : UTILBA hangs

Recently I deleted several inventory items, using both the Inventory Maintenance menu and the UTILBA utility. Sometimes while in UTILBA, the pc would "hang" on an item, and not progress to the next prompt. (In other words, the system would not ask if I wanted to delete the item, even though that's exactly what I just asked it to do.)

So, I did a CTRL + ALT + DEL, and tried to delete other items. For some items, it worked, for other items, it would hang again. I repeated this process several times.

So now I have several inventory items that I still want to delete, but don't know how. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thank you.

Run the Utility Recover Data Files for Inventory from the Peachtree main menu. Select to recover ALL FILES for Inventory and then run the optional menu items following the re-indexing portion. Then try to delete the inventory items in the tradional manner first. Remember, in order to delete an item, it must have a zero 0.00 quantity on hand and have NO TRANSACTIONS that allowed the 0.00 balance in the current period. Only then if you cannot delete an item, should you then resort to UTILBA's delete Inventory Item. This utility was designed to assist in the removal of a corrupted record when normal process had failed.
