View Full Version : Is it possible to invoice for water usage?
Hi,
We currently invoice for water usage quarterly in PT 2004 (salculations are done in Excel). Am looking for an easier way to bill residents. Is there a way to bill for metered usage that would retain the most recent reading(s) for induvidual customers so that they could be used in a calculation for current usage?

You can set the water usage as a non-stock item!

Hi Lal,
Yes this is possible. I have a system where meter readings (gas, not water, but same idea) are maintained in an Access database. I export this info out to an excel file (hmm, can access export to csv?? need to check) then I use excel to save as a csv file. I then run it through a custom program I wrote that converts the csv file from an excel csv file to a file format that PT is expecting and import these as invoices. Actually easier than it sounds. My program will also add a minimum charge.
One of my projects I'm working on is to write a program that handles the entire thing without need of Access or Excel.
My time is limited but if you need help let me know.
