Can I network inventories?

I'm doing research for my father-in-law who uses Peachtree in his business. I, am not very familiar with Peachtree other than a casual basis. He's opening a new office in a different city and he would like to network the inventories together using Peachtree. He wants to be able to perform standard inventory stuff: searching both inventories for products; being able to view the current status of either inventory from one location, etc. Is this possible with Peachtree and, if so, can someone provide me with an overview of how it's done? Is it complicated, does it work well?

One method is to subscribe Peachtree's add-on service, Web Accounting. However, this is a limited service, so better test it first.
