It seems like I either read or was told a similar story. I'll try to look through my information and see where it came from. In "theory" you would only have to upgrade every other year, on chapter in the story is that if any upgrades come out within the next year you will receive it free. However, judging how big business usually is, it will probably be purposely staged at 13 month intervals or something.

Also, there is a "money back guarantee".
Of course, after you convert, and use in your orperation for a period, you're pretty much locked to a product.

The program maintenance fee of $995.00 is a per annum charge to maintain the program and to provide support services. At this time, Peachtree has not stated their position should a user choose not to renew the annual maintenance agreement at $995.00. However, it would suggest that if one decided not to renew next year and then in the following year decided to upgrade, I would expect that they would be forced to pay the then program upgrade Price in place at that time. A price that would likely be greater than the sum of the alleged annual maintenance fees / savings.

The upgrade price includes program updates and Peachtree Support Services for 12 months from the date of purchase. Prior to the end of the first 12 months of purchase, Peachtree will bill the user $995.00 to cover the second 12 month period and so forth. The first year is the price of the upgrade only.
