Does Peachtree Complete 2006 have an auto backup function? I cannot seem to find anything and am in the process of starting a third party, off-site backup solution. I do not want to have to remember to manually backup up each day before my offsite backup runs.

Just make sure your off site backup service backs up the Peachtree company folder(s) and also the forms folder if you have any custom forms. If you're not sure where the company folder is, go to Maintain, Company information and you'll see it there, unless you have an older version.
Doesn't hurt to make a manual backup periodically from Peachtree too, but no, there's no way to automatically do it. But you can have Peachtree remind you to back up at a set interval.

You have to have an actual backup file in order to restore though correct? So if I don't manually backup my Peachtree files everyday then I won't be able to restore just by having the Company file folder backed up off site. I ran into this problem a few years ago - I backed up the entire Company file and the client could not restore - they needed an actual backup file to restore. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Using a back up copy is faster and the prefered way but you don't HAVE to use a back up copy (ptb file) to recover from a crash. You can just copy the files from your backup drive to your hard drive after creating a skeleton new company.

Ok, thanks for the clearing that up.
