When backing up I encounter the following problem quite often - Despite peachtree being closed on all computers, I get message -Must Have Single User Access. I then have to reboot, to do the back up. We are on Windows 2000 Service Pack 2, on LAN with computers connected to a HUB. We have Peachtree 8.02 & have installed the latest registry repair. Any ideas?

It may be caused by crashing of Peachtree on some of your workstations. Check if your computers are stable. If a workstation abnormally quit Peachtree, this error may occurs. So, ensure that your network and all workstations running Peachtree are stable.

I haven't used Peachtree extensively, but I might as well through in my two cents. Are any of the clients windows 98? 98 isn't very good about releasing network connections when it shuts down and tends to just drop them. Try actually going into the MMC and actually kicking off any "ghost" connections. You could also set up a script on the clients for people to run before shutdown that uses "net use delete" to disconnect any shared drives (be sure to set up a startup script to reconnect them)

We also had a problem on win98SE when shutting down. We now log off the network first (select cancel when the password screen comes up) and then shut down. Had no problems with hangups once we implemented this.
