I get the following error message and then Peachtree crashes. "Peachw caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 0167:bff9db61". I am running Peachtree complete multi user v8.0 with the latest updates on a windows 98 SE machine w/ 128MB of RAM. It has a cyrix processor and ALL other apps run fine on this machine, Outlook 2000, ACT, etc, . Can anyone help?

thanks

You don't have enough ram. I had the same problem. Peachtree uses 64mb of ram by itself. If you have any other programs open or running in the background at the sametime that your trying to use Peachtree it shuts down. I added 190mb of ram to my system bringing it to a total of 318mb of ram and have not had anymore problems.

Your have a valid point, however the manual recommends 64Mb and I have 128MB. Is peachtree really that RAM needy?

Thanks

I added 128MB to bring it up to 256 with no luck. Its got to be the processor or MB. The hard drive is brand new.

Peachtree is very greedy when it comes to using resources. Increasing the ram should help. Check the number of programs that you have running in the background. Turn off all unneccessary one because they are using resources. Then check the FILES= in config.sys. Peachtree had me change mine to FILES=199, and BUFFERS=32.0. It easy to change.

Go to Start, Run, type msconfig and hit enter. Then click on the tab that says config.sys. when this comes up you should see FILES= which is probably set at 150, if so change to 199, BUFFERs should be the very next line. Then click ok.

Since adding the ram and changing these two items, I've gone from not being able to have anything open but Peachtree, and even then it was only if it felt like working. To being able not only to work in Peachtree but also being able to run the internet and three other programs at the sametime.
