Hi,
I am looking for some feedback on Quantum installation issues we are experiencing.

After installation, the database increased from 270MB to 365MB, this concerns me for growth but I see others indicate that it seems to function o.k. for them. When I look in the actual file size (through windows explorer) it shows the single Company folder as being 1.35 GB in size.

We are experiencing very slow activity with client end ( though we are testing on a PC that does not meet recommended spec's- "on purpose"). upon testing we see that the server generally is disk access and that the client is mostly processor and RAM hits for performance. I am very scepticle about the recommended hardware requirements Sage indicates to provide real performance.

The other major issue is that when adding more than one client (installing the next client box) for testing purposes is that the software indicates that the database we are connecting to is not a valid company. All configuration settings are setup correctly (mapped drive, data location,etc.). The client PC's that are having issues also will not correctly register the software- after registering it still indicates that "you only have "X" uses left on your unregistered software"

Any advice is welcomed!

Thanks!

You bought Quantum and you get one year of support with that, you know?

Try changing the users so they have full security access to H Key Local Machine and full access to the shared area on the server. As I mentioned in another thread, there will be some file size increase but most of my clients that go with the recommended hardware are not having issues. A gig switch seems to help quite a bit even before quantum came out.

Thank you, Yes I have tried that route but so far the solution offered by a support person was to reinstall the client and give full permissions to the user on the client and the server. However this has not solved this issue.

Thank you, I will try these!
