2002 problem

Running Complete 2002 on peer to peer Win 2000 PC. Workstation are both Win 2000 pro and Win 98. Win 2000 PC's run great, but Win 98 PC's take forever to save an invoice. Any ideas?

Also should note that this problem did not exist Version 8.

What do you mean by "forever"? What's the hardware configuration of your Win98 machines?

Of course, it's not a good idea to mix win2000 and 98 machines. It just make your network unstable.

It takes approximately 15 seconds to post an invoice from the time you hit the save button.

Several things you might check:

1) Apply the registry update for Peachtree 7, it works fine with 8 and 2002 as well.

2) Interesting, fine-tuning your antivirus program can help especially the "real time" scanning.

3) Check if your network settings are optimised ( difficult to detail here ), and upgrade your network hardware if possible. For example using 100baseT switche with 100baseT network card, etc.

Well, we've a client also experience this problem, after upgrade the hardware ( switch and network card, and install a high performance server ), now saving an invoice is at least 50% faster.
