Inventory ?

We are an event company - we rent our inventory (props, lighting, etc.) for conventions, shows, etc. Would like to maintain inventory control and most importantly, show costs of each rental vs. income. How does this work when all inventory comes back inhouse after event is over? Please advise on how to set up in Peachtree Complete Accounting 2002.
