I am going to upgrade from Peachtree 7.0 to 2002. I have a Windows NT 4.0 network with Windows 98 workstations. PT program files are on each workstation and data files are on the file server. If I install the new version on one of the workstations while it is connected to the network (so the data files will be converted) and then upgrade the other workstations while not connected to the network, will everything be ok? Does anyone have any other suggestions about the best way to do this?
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

I'd strongly discourage you from installing the new version over the top of the old version - if anything goes wrong you are in serious trouble. A better approach is to install the new version along side of the old version. That way you can continue to use the old version while testing the new version.
When you install 2002, simply indicate that you want to install in a different directory from the default, say c:/peachw9. Then copy your company folder from its current location on your server to a new folder and open your data in this new location to convert your copy of your company data. After that install 2002 on your other systems and test it out thoroughly. In the meantime you can continue to use V7 as before. When you are ready to switch over, copy your active V7 company data one more time and convert it again and you are ready to rock and roll.

One reminder about the upgrade. If the data is on the server and you upgrade the data through network, it will be much slower than you upgrade from the local machine with the data on local machine, which is also safer.
And, remember to make a backup of your data before you upgrade.
