Import Problems: Field charaters allowed?

What character are allowed in the fields?

Some descriptions in "help" say "alphanumeric" but the sample data company shows dashes also ... are there any other marks allowed that won't make import stumble?

My inventory items have ^ and $ in some of their names. I want to clean up my naming and descriptions because I am starting to download from access files online.:confused:

When importing into Peachtree you can use the "*" or asterisk. While in Peachtree, you can NOT use the asterisk, question mark or plus sign (*.?,+) in GL, Vendor, Customer, Employee, Inventory, Job or any other ID'S. Further, you would NOT want to use comma's, single or double quotations marks, if you intend to export such data to an ASCII formatted file. Peachtree does not have a problem with these characters, however, when sharing data with other program via an export / import ASCII format process, then you could find that you incurr data field interpetation problems.
