Another question. Can't seem to figure out how to "un-group" items on the Peachtree invoice. I'm trying to design my own but when you point to just the fields, for example, all the lines around these fields are selected also. I'd like to leave the lines as they are and just move/resize the fields.

In PT2002 you can select the group of fields, then right click on your mouse and select Properties. In the Properties window in the upper right hand corner you can use the up and down arrows to move the fields. You can also resize the column width there, but that, of course, involves moving the vertical lines that border the fields. I haven't found a way to make the fields smaller without moving the vertical border lines. Frankly, I don't know why you would want to anyway.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Dave. I tried that and it does what I want it to do! The reason I wanted to change the vertical lines is so that the fields aren't flush with the lines -- it's only a cosmetic thing. I suppose I could draw independent lines if the fields weren't in a group and get the "look" I'm going for. Thanks for your input!

I don't believe you can ungroup the main body area of the PT invoice. As far as I understand the program, all you can do is move things around inside that group using the Properties dialog box.

I should hasten to add that I'm new to these PT design features and a more experienced PT form designer may have additional techniques that I am not familiar with.

Have you checked the Knowledge base at the Peachtree web site? You can't ask a question for free, but you can search previous questions. Perhaps someone has queried PT on this same subject.

As you probably know, a full and updated version of Crystal Reports is available for purchase. However, it's not cheap and probably has a significant learning curve. Probably not worth it, just for changing one PT form.

bkpr913 - to clarify what NWBizMan says As you probably know, a full and updated version of Crystal Reports is available for purchase. However, it's not cheap and probably has a significant learning curve. Probably not worth it, just for changing one PT form. Please understand that you can not alter a Peachtree existing invoice with Crystal. You would need to create an invoice from scratch building it with Crystal report writer.

Thanks, Mark, for the info. I've decided that I'll have to start from scratch if I want it to look a certain way. It's a pain placing fields and drawing all those lines, but I think it will be worth it. For all that the Peachtree program offers, I guess we can't expect it to be a full-blown design program too. Thanks for everybody's help!
