View Full Version : question on how to create CAP amts on employee payroll weekly deductions

I am writing regarding our investigating how PeachTree payroll software
handles ongoing weekly payroll deductions for individuals with a stop-cap
As in example:
Maria Jones has purchased uniform to total amount of $65.00
she has agreed to have deducted from her payroll weekly amount of $15.00
to cap at $65.00
this would calculate to 4 weekly deductions at $15.00 or equals = $60.00
and the fifth deduction at $5.00 to grand total $65.00 year amount.
Can your payroll software do this?

First, set up a payroll field to hold the amounts for the uniform:
1. Maintain, Default Information for Employees, EmployEEs tab
2. On a blank line, enter UNIFORM as the new field
3. Enter a GL Account to associate with the deduction
4. Select OK to save the field

Set up a payroll taxtable under File, Payroll Taxtables, Edit Company:

1. Enter UNIFORM for the Tax Table ID
2. Enter the name according to the rule of NAME YEAR, (UNIFORM 01, where 01 eqals the current year)
3. Leave Filing Status at All Statuses. Uncheck Appears in Payroll Tax Report Menu.
4. Select Local in the Government box
5. Select Deduction for the Type.
7. Enter the following in the Formula box:


8. SAVE the new taxtable
