-Peachtree has detected that Microsoft Windows 2000 is
installed on your computer and that you are currently logged
on with restrictive user rights. To rund Peachtree accounting
you must have non-restrictive (Power User or Administrator)
rights. Check with your system administrator on how to change
your Windows 2000 user rights.

HAS anyone seen this error?

running windows 2000 & nt workstation to win2000 server over a RDP Terminal server connection where peachtree ver. 8 is located.

Cannot get more than adminstrator & one other account to go beyond this pop-up.

Added Power Users to NTFS permissions and registry security that were related to peachtree and betrieve engines (wbt w32)...no luck.

Any suggestions?

This sounds like a permissions problem on the data directory on the server. Make sure that your users have full access to this directory. Right click the directory, then click on the security tab. Add the appropriate users or groups, then click the allow full control check box.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.....
However I have already gone thru NTFS security and added full control for the appropriate groups. I even went as far as reviewing & adding all security permissions to registry keys that are associated with peachtree....

The problem is with the location of the bti.ini & pcw80.ini files.
THE PROBLEM is resolved. See next post.

Thanks for your reply!!

Barry,

I'm not sure you are experiencing the same issue.
It all depends on where your the logon account's windows directory resides.
In our case, we have terminal server connections to a Win2K server; therefore, in most cases the windows directory is located in their user directory (home directory).
Again our issue was directory with the account not the PC.

Check to see where the bti.ini and pcw80.ini are located. If they are not available copy them from a working account.

I hope this helps.
