I am experiencing the following problem - I can be working in Peachtree or I can walk away from the computer and I receive Program System Error where it states that an Error Log Is Being Created.

This occurs several times a day. I have to log off Peachtree and log on again.

I am working on a Dell Pentium 4 computer. We installed Windows 2000 Registry Fix. We are on a Hub with 4 other computers.

We have tried reinstalling Peachtree and reinstalling Windows 2000. We have changed the Network Card, changed the network cable & the hub.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

What did the error log that was created say?

You might try accessing the data locally for a day and see if the problem occurs. If it does and you are accessing the data across a network, then the network or server are not your problem. If the problem disappears, then you have a network or server problem. You can then try not using each of the workstations for a day to see if it is workstation related.

You didn't mention whether you are keeping your server defragmented.

we have not defrag. yet but this is the only machine with this problem .

we have about 4 machines on the network

Error 35 is directly related to the network. If you compter is not maped to the network drive and you have installed Peachtree indicating that the data files are on the maped to a certan drive then that is your problem. You are loosing a network connection to your computer. Look at your network cable.

What operating system is the server running.

By default Windows 2000 will disconnect from a mapped drive after a period of time (I think it is something like 20 minutes) if there is no activity to that drive. I believe there is something in the registry to change this behavior, but don't recall what it is.

Following up on Robert's suggestion:

If you have the Shared Folders Snap-in for Microsoft Management Console, see if the user limit is set for a sufficient amount of users.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

We finally F disked and did a clean reinstall of windows.

This seams to have stopped the problems
