hi all,

i have a problem with the printer pausing 4 or 5 seconds between pages when i do a report on peachtree.

to rule out the printer, i generated a multiple page document in Word and it prints fine with no pause between the pages.

software is peachtree complete 8.0

any help appreciated,

terry

Check the Printer Properties under Windows - Printers & Faxes. You will find settings there related to spooling which allows Windows to save the report to the hard drive and then release it to the printer.

Is this a new Printer?
is this a custom report?

hi gale,

it's an hp 1100.

i think it was a sales order report. i believe they (my customer) said that all peachtree reports are printing that way.

thx,
terry

one other note, it doesn't seem to matter how large the report is. i had them print a 3 page report and there was no change.

From the Windows Desktop - go to START and Printers & Faxes. Right click on the HP laser printer icon, select Properties and the ADVANCE Tab. In the center you should see the section labeled "Spool Print Documents on ....". Typically, the setting should be "Start Printing Immediately", however, you can try one of the other optional settings to see if the problem is relieved somewhat. I.E. Start Printing after Last Page is Spooled or print direct.

thanks for the suggestions, i tried them all.
it turns out the fix for this was just updating to the latest printer driver. there probably was a fix to the problem using the old driver but "who cares" now!

thx for the help just the same
