Hi, I use PT Classic Accounting, rel9. Last week, my hard drive crashed. I replaced it, reinstalled Peachtree, and restored my databases (five company files) from Zip discs. Now some of the database accesses cause Peachtree to lock up. For instance, if I go into Reports, Payroll, I can click on almost any report and everything works OK. However, if I click on Current Earning Report or Quarterly Earnings Report, I get the hourglass, my hard drive starts to thrash (light blinks quickly), the report comes up, but the hourglass stays on the screen and the hard drive continues to thrash. . . until I close the program down. If I use Ctrl-Alt-Del and "End Task" (always three tries), I can close down the current company, which also closes Peachtree. If I call it back up, I'm told that someone else is using the registration number. If I reboot, I can get back into the company, but then two of that company show when I go to open that company. Anyone have any idea what's up? I've run Data Verification, and am told there are no errors.

I've installed Peachtree on two other machines, and they also exhibit the same problem.

Is there a way to do a "deeper" verification, or "fix company"? I remember that on older Peachtree versions, there was a command line switch I could use to start Peachtree that would allow me to do something like a "super-verification", but I forget what that was, and don't know if 2002 has that feature.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

Do you mean the "integrity check" function? If so, run with the -i swich. That's for example, c:\peachw\peachw.exe -i

Yes, PCW90 also has this function. Hope this helps.
