Dear Users
After installing the Peachtree 2006 to a PC, I cannot start to inital the Peachtree program " due to other user is using the program", in fact I am the only one person to log in the program. I have tried a few time, same "error" message is displayed. Please help.

Check the Windows Task Manager for a process labeled W32MKDE.EXE running in memory. This is the Btreive Database engine. If Peachtree is not running (Peachw.exe) then you do not need the database engine running. If you attempt to open Peachtree and the database engine is already running, then you may receive this error msg.
Separately, if this is a new install of Peachtree, adjust the Windows CONFIG.NT files statment to read 199 versus the default setting of 40. Go to START - RUN and type CONFIG.NT and select NOTEPAD when prompted for a program to be used to open this file. Scroll to the last line of the file and change FILES=40 to read FILES=199 on each workstation using Peachtree and FILES=250 on the HOST computer or SERVER in a multi-user setting.
