Mouse scrolling problem

Now that I have upgraded to XP, the mouse wheel no longer scrolls in certain contexts (such as the checks to be printed list). Any ideas? Thanks!

Was it a clean install or an upgrade? Is this problem isolated to when you are using Peachtree or does it happen in other applications?

Did your mouse come with any software? You might try reinstalling the mouse software.

Clean install, as far as I know. It's a new PC built from components by our IT department. The mouse is a Microsoft Wheelmouse Optical. What should I try next? Thanks!

Try installing the software that comes with the mouse.

Have you tried the mouse on another computer to rule out mouse vs OS problems?

Sorry, this gets dumber. It's the mouse from my old machine, and it worked fine before. Scrolling anywhere else works fine, too.

Any software that may have come with the mouse is long gone. Should I download something rather than use XP's choice for this mouse?

I couldn't hurt to see if there any updated drivers on the MS site. You might see if there is a newer mouse floating around your IT department to try.
