I recently installed Peachtree Pro 2007 on a client's computer and after the installation completed, the client was no longer able to print reports from their ACS program. Once PT Pro 2007 was uninstalled, their ACS program worked fine. I bought my own version of PT Pro 2007, loaded it on my computer and have noticed that when the Pervasive data base engine is running, I can't access PT Complete 2003. I have to turn the engine off first. I guess my question is - Is it possible the Pervasive database engine is causing problems with the Automated Church Systems software in my client's computer? And if so, how do I fix it? The client plans to run all their accounting functions in Peachtree but may still need to track church member donations in ACS.

have you tried turning off the engine and then running this ACS software?

I'll bet ACS runs on Btrieve

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, when Peachtree loaded the Pervasive Database Pre-load on the church's computer, the icon didn't appear in the system tray the way it did on my own computer and I couldn't locate a way to turn it off. If you know of a way, please let me know. Peachtree has been uninstalled on the church's computer for now but I don't think the database engine was removed, although the church was able to access and print their reports from the ACS software once the removal was complete.

What version of Windows are you using?

Can you see the database running if you open up Task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete)?

Thank you for the reply. Actually, I'm not certain which Windows operating system they are using, dummy me didn't check. Anyway, they decided not to try and reload Peachtree to that computer and we have loaded it to their other computer running Windows XP Media Editon. It is working fine but, again, the Pervasive Database - Pre-load icon didn't show up in the system tray. I did locate where the pvsw (pervasive software) folder was and deleted it from the system we first tried to use. It all appears to be working fine now. I do appreciate the suggestions and thanks again.

Is it possible that someone set the option to hide the icon on the systray area? Right click on an empty spot on the taskbar and select properties. On the Taskbar tab, select customize. Locate the database and make sure the option "always show" is selected.

Ok. Thanks again I'll give that a try next time I'm at the church. I'll let you know if it works.
