importing inventory items

Hello,

I have inventory items that were imported as stock items and now we can not make changes to the Bill of materials. Is there anyway to reimport the inventory list without having to change the items individually?

To me the real question is why can't bills of materials be changed? Sometimes product components change.

Depending on what version you have you can change the BOM.
I have 2006 Preimer and can change the BOM.
On importing assemblies, I have tried what you are trying to do and if you want to import assemblies you need to import with at least 1 part in the assembly. I have not had very good luck with this, it takes too much time to set it up. It seems to me to be easier to enter each assembly. A lot of my assemblies have minor differences so I copy assemblies and make those changes and save to the new item number.
