Asking for help / suggestions. While setting up a new company, we inadvertantly set up (Ptree Complete 2005) as accrual but find we need to be cash basis. Trying to figure out how to switch without having to reenter all our sales orders and purchase orders. We have not done any payroll or other financial stuff yet, just SO's and PO's but enough of these that we don't want to have to start from scratch - if at all possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Chip

You're going to have to rebuild your file by creating a new empty company, set to cash basis and then you export everything out of the old file and into the new.

Search the help for Rebuild company and follow the directions carefully. Make sure you back up after each step just in case something blows up when importing the next thing.

You can also hire out this kind of work.

I believe Shannon, who runs this board, does rebuilds.

Lisa, thanks. My concern with a rebuild is that we would have to reenter all of our sales orders and purchase orders. I don't think these can be imported when changing the accounting method - if I read it right. We can reenter all of it but I guess I was hoping to find a way around it.

Thanks again, Chip
