win 98 cant send email via pdf

The following error occurs on a Windows 98 (I know, I know- upgrade to XP...) when attempting to email an invoice:

Peachtree cannot find a required file or it has been corrupted. Please reinstall Peachtree or contact Peachtree Technical Support.

I don't see a Peachtree E-mail Writer listed on the printer list. This is a networked PC, accessing PT on a different PC. I tried reinstalling PT and this did not help.

Does this work on win 98 ??

I do not believe win98 is listed as a supported OS for that version, so it is likely you will have odd errors occur. With the memory management problems that win98 has, I would not use it for any program that has a database, because it is like playing russian roulette with your data.

I had a similar problem on a win2K machine and a earlier PT version. Installing CutePDF solved my problem. http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp. Install both the "free download" and the "free converter" for a complete install.

It may be that the Ghostscript converter included with CutePDF is missing with your PT installation.

We e-mail customer statements as pdf files in verion 2006. We recently switched to XP, but it also worked under Win98. I am assuming (dangerous, eh?) that the pdf part of this mechanism is the same as for invoices.
