I am new to Peachtree. I started my job in March, and the auditer is here auditing the 2006 financials. He is trying to tie some numbers to the beginning balances of 2006. I can not print the GL for 2005. 2006 and 2007 are open. Is there any way to access the GL history?

You could look for the year end Peachtree forced data backup and consider restoring it as a NEW COMPANY. Please backup your current database before attempting this solution. Once restored go to Maintain - Company and adjust the Company Name to include 2005. This way, you can open the 2005-2006 Company and find the desired audit trails.

A good solution to this problem is before you close a year end copy the data file to another name and call the company in that file something like company x before year end close xxxx this way you always have the old information available by simply going into the appropriate company file. I have all years save this way. Came in helpful with an IRS exam just completed

If you print a Working Trial Balance (General Ledger Report > Working Trial Balance) and date it 12/31/06 the first column would be the prior year ending trial balance (12/31/05).
