View Full Version : forms print w/different font sizes

When two different users, on two different computers print the same form, such as an invoice, the form comes out with different spacing and font size from one computer. Kind of like it is bloated or been enlarged.
I've updated and changed the forms on my computer and when they print out from the other computer (same printer) the form looks different.
Is that a Peachtree problem or a network problem?
Any suggestions?

Likely you've various copies of the same form, Peachtree will look at the datapath stored in your paw70.ini for the forms. Check your computer under c:\windows or c:\winnt the file paw70.ini, open it and check the statement "datapath= ...".
Even you've changed the form in one machine, if other machines are having the datapath pointing to a different location will make your form not available to them, results in different look.

I checked on our two different computers. The DATAPATH= is identical. Reading through the entire Paw70.ini, there are other differences but I don't know if they have anything to do with this problem. I'm afraid to make changes because I don't want to mess anything up.

I also wanted to add that we do save old versions of current forms in a separate folder on the shared server. Would that have any impact?

I have found with some clients that the problem is the Windows printer driver. Is the correct - and latest - driver for the printer being used? If not, re-install the printer driver and see if that solves the problem.

Interesting that your 2 computers' datapath are the same, as they should be different indeed.
For example, for the computer you set as the main ( or act as server ),
datapath=c:\peachw
Then, for the other computer which access the server's data and forms, its datapath should be set to like:
datapath=p:\
because normally you will have to map a drive like p: to \\computer1\peachw in order to share the same form and data, otherwise your 2 computers will point to different sets of forms locating in their own c:\peachw
