View Full Version : Can't remove COUNTY from our address

When we print purchase orders, the name of our county appears in both "ordered by" and "ship to" address.
We need to eliminate county from both addresses
(it's the same as the name of a nearby town, and causes confusion).
The county field has been cleared in "maintain company information" address, but still appears on the purchase orders.
Does anyone know how to make it disappear?
Thank you,
Dan Webb

Check out the form itself in Design mode and see if the County is listed on the form. This happens occasionally. Also, if it is appearing in the Ordered By and Ship To fields, is it coming from the Customer record. Check out your Customers to see if that is the problem.

Hello Deborah,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately COUNTY is not included in design view.

In Peachtree, choose Maintain | Company Information. I think that you listed your county in the Country field. In any case, if you erase the Country field, this should resolve the problem.

Oops...just re-read your message and saw that you cleared the Maintain Company information already. Did you happen to fill in the Country field on the individual customer or vendor records?

Hello David,
The county (not country) is appearing for our own company (not vendors) on purchase orders. It appears at the bottom of our address for "ordered by" and "ship to".
Thanks,
Dan Webb

Click on Maintain, then Vendors. Click the magnifying class to pull up one of the vendors where the "county" is appearing on your purchase order. On the screen below City, State, Zip, is there anything listed in the COUNTRY Field? I think one of your users misread the field and entered something there. If you clear this field, you should solve the problem.
Another solution is to replace the combined "Name and Address" field on the purchase order form with individual fields for each piece of data.

Where is the COUNTY (not Country) entered in the company and is it showing up on your customer records? It can only be in a few places.
A field on the Customer Record - either you are using an address field for a county or a custom field with info in it.
A field in the Company record - which you say you fixed.
A mislocated field on the form - which needs to be removed. If it is, delete the field. David has the right of it in changing the combined "Name and Address" field.
If the problem is still occuring, we may need to look at a form to visualize the problem better.
