Every time I attempt to start Peachtree Quantum 2007 I get the following error message: "Peachtree could not be started. This could be due to outdated or extra data files in your company. Call technical support for information"

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

I just went through this with Peachtree Tech support. We first deleted the "Reports" folder then used the installation disk (Autorun) to use the repair feature. I am not sure if that was part of the ultimate solution but it was part of the diagnosis. The ultimate solution was going to this address & going through the steps on my McAfee firewall program & allowing access to some peachtree components. Here is the link.

Are by chance you using a laptop connected to the network?

I've seen it happen before where a laptop running prior to logining into the network.

Do you eventually get on Quantum?

If not, have you ever gotten logged into Quantum? If this is the answer, possibly your network drives on your local computer do not correspond to the settings when Quantum was set up.

I had this error msg recently, uninstalling Norton 2006 resolved it. We tried to rename the Reports folder and repair, it didn't do anything.

This type of error message related to Peachtree not being able to open is typically related to an Anti-Virus program or Firewall program blocking or interfering with the Pervasive database engine trying to start.

When you reinstall Peachtree, make sure you follow the tip from Peachtree. I tried it and it works.
