Working with Jobs in Quantum 2008

It takes 2min + just to save a simple change or create a new job.... plus locks up all other workstations until it is complete. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated. I have contacted Peachtree Support and they are clueless. Told me to purge... but all data have been purged that can be, and we only have 4795 jobs 90% or more of which are inactive but from this year.

Very frustrated that this took a couple of seconds in Quantum 2007 and now takes over 2 minutes in 2008.

I have figured out that it has to do with using phases.... if I save a job without phases it takes 2 seconds.... with phases over 2 minutes. Any ideas on why or how to fix this? Unfortunatly I do have to use phases, in order to separate out labor, parts, used parts, frieght, and so on.
