Disappearing Files

We're using PeachTree Complete Accounting version 7.0.03.098 in a Windows 2000 Network. Lately files have been disappearing from the Peachtree directory on the server. The files disappearing are usually *.hlp and *.cnt files. When this happens, we restore them from tape and it starts working again. We only have a few people that have rights to the directory on the server and none of them have deleted the files. Any ideas???

Are you running an antivirus program, and are the definitions current?

We are running McAfee Netshield and it is up to date on the virus definition files. I also checked the McAfee logs, and there's no record of McAfee doing anything with the files in question.

That's a very bizarre situation. Try copying the files in question to another folder on the computer to help determine if there's some other program that is doing something with these files. If it's only affecting the PEACHW file, then at least you could more easily copy the files back in until you determine what's causing this.
