Every system is different, and part of the challenge of learning a new system is accepting what it does not do exactly like you are used to. We are updating from GBS after nearly 10 years, so the people here are very much entrenched in how GBS does things and wants Peachtree to duplicate it as much as possible.
That said, the people who do most of the office work have the following complaints.
1. You cannot see the gross margin % of an item or sale. These gross margins ensure that they are not over or under charging, and also help errors be discovered more quickly.
2. You cannot see a list of items that a customer has ordered recently. Often times a customer asks for an item by giving a vague description, as well as saying that they have ordered it before. Peachtree cannnot open a seperate window showing what they have ordered in the past.
As I understand it, rapid access reports solve most of the problem. You can see gross margins on recent items, which kills two birds with one stone. The only challenges there are that you can't see the gross margin for new items being put in, and the rapid access report doesn't show the date. (I made a crystal report with the invoice date added, but couldn't find a way to add it to the drop down list.)
Any other ideas on what I could do to meet their specifications?
