Partial import of accounts into COA

Hi all,

Is it possible to import a "short" listing of accounts into my company's Chart of Accounts without disturbing the rest of the accounts? I already have a few transactions entered which I do not want to damage. It seems easier to edit the COA in Excel as a CSV file. I have about 30 accounts for material and subcontractor types that I would like to add by importing just them from a CSV file.

Can it be done safely?

Sure, if they are new account numbers, they'll just get added to the list.

If the import has an existing account number, it will get overwritten with whatever is in the import file.

Always make a backup before importing, just in case.

Again, this is a topic that is not in the Users Guide and not very well documented within the online help. I think I'll mention this to Peachtree as a documentation enhancement.
