Has anyone else had this issue? I'm using PT Premium 2008. After every back up, regardless as to the where I direct the backup, the software gets an error and shuts down. The backup appears to be successful but Peachtree still prompts me for a new on when I shut it down again so it must not think so. I guess I won't know for sure if the back up is corrupt or not until I need to use it.

If you're concerned about whether or not your data is corrupt, you can restore the backup to a new company and check your data to see if it is accurate. This way you won't have to wait until you need the backup to determine if it is corrupt.

You may not have sufficient Windows Security Rights or Permissions preventing the updating of the Windows Registry to indicate that a backup has been completed. The user requires Administrative or FULL PERMISSIONS in Windows as well as Full Security Rights to the Peachtree Datapath.
Further click on Services in Peachtree and Check for Updates to be assured that your program is up to date.

If you are an IT person, and do not want to give full rights to HKEY Local, then just give full rights to the Peachtree areas and Pervasive. Also, there is an ini file on the server that also holds information for your backup default settings, so full access to the Peachtree directories are needed, as Rick stated.

I am VERY new to PT. I am an IT consultant with a client (customer) that has been having problems accessing their files on thheir server after updating using WUS on SBS2003. At first I was getting errors that said something about "jrnlhdr.dat" and to "reindex" using virification. The verification showed no errors but now the fille will not open.
Point is that I wanted to make the file local by backing it up on a subfolder on the "C" drive. Here is the kick. When I tried to RESTORE it into that folder the restore perfoms successfully BUT the data files are not there. PT gave me the option on where to make the backup BUT the restoration will not write.
I really need to get this completed very soon. BTW the version is Multiuser Release 2002. Looks like this is VERY old. This is a non profit I am working for.
