View Full Version : Credit Card Reciepts
At our company we do not accept any credit card payments. I have gone to set up and have made that not an option of payments. However, when I enter cash receipts that option always pops up as a method of payment. I always have to enter cancel or just use my mouse and skip it. Any other ideas on how to make this disappear?

Go to "Default Information:Customer:Pay Methods" from the menu bar and remove all the CC pay methods from the list.
The only methods of payments I have in this area are cash & check. Any other suggestions?

What version of Peachtree? Are you clicking on the "Credit Card" button by accident, or are you talking about the "Payment Method" field that's just above the "Cash Account" field in the top right-hand corner of the receipt screen?

As a test try adding an additional pay method to the list (I tried "left arm") and see if it shows up on your Pay Method pull-down list on the Receipts form.
This field has been reported on occasion to be "sticky", remembering some previous value. Another test is to create an Invoice then set the Amount Paid on Invoice directly from the Invoice screen. Select the payment method to be cash. Then return to the Receipts form and see if the default value has changed.

I am using Peachtree Accounting 2002, version 9.
I always have method of payment set to cash. When I enter info I use the "enter" key to skip to the next field, I just want the credit card info to stop coming up, when I never use it. It seems you can't turn it off. If I use my mouse to navigate, it works just fine, I guess I'm just into the "enter" mode.

Try using the Tab key to navigate between fields instead of the Enter key.

I tried various ways of entering receipts in V9.0.02.033 and in all cases, on leaving the form and returning, the Payment Method was set to the previous value used, as you would expect.
As I mentioned, I have seen mentioned that this field can stick on a particular value and that it can be unstuck by following the technique described above. Did you try that?
Can you make changes in the default values and see them show up? This is a critical point you need to determine. If so, try changing all 10 payment methods to cash and see what happens.

I changed them all to cash and it doesn't matter the credit card tab is still there and continues to pop up. Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I will use my tab key or my mouse. You would think by telling the system, credit card is not an option, it could just dissappear.
