Help with 2008 Multi-user

I am running Complete 2008 multi-user. I am new to the multi-user version. Problem is while one user is in a certain accounting period another user cannot be in different accounting period. For example if I am wanting to work in the current accounting period entering invoice, purchase orders etc... another user is not able to go to a previous accounting and enter data such as edit previous entries or balance checking accounts etc. When a user tries to change accounting periods it will not allow them to do so giving them a message "This task cannot be completed because it is a single-user task and another user is in the company. Please try again when there are no active users in the company."

One other thing if a user is in a previous accouting period and another user logs on another system that company will open in the same accounting period the other user is in.

Is there a way that two or more users can be in one company at the same time in two different accounting periods.

If not this is a big problem and hope peachtree will find a fix for this real soon.

The solution to your problem is a simple one. Peachtree allow you to enter both current and future dated transaction while in the current period. Hence set your current accounting period to the oldest period in which you need to make entries. Now you can enter data in the now current period and others can enter their transactions at the same time using their respective current or future dates (up to the last viable date for period 24).
