Hi,
We're one user of PEACHTREE PREMIUM ACCOUNTING 2005.
I got 2 questions:
1) When I was trying to import Sales Journal, I was prompted:
'An error occurred importing the file D:\My Document\Sales.CSV.
Line Number: 2
Fiels Name: Date
You cannot import transactions dated beyond the end of next year.'
I checked our 1st period is from Jan 2006, and Aug 2007 is 20th period. But I checked the Sales Journal exported, current period(Aug 2007) is 36, totally confused...
And in our Sales Journal there're very old records existed like below:
Jul 2002~Dec 2004, period all shows 00
Jan 2005~Dec 2005, period shows 01~12
Jan 2006~Aug 2007, period shows 01~20
What should we do with this error?
2) I imported a invoice without date.
I cannot modify the date via TASK-SALES/INVOICING...
Could I delete it? how?
Help!! Thanks!!

Make sure your date is in the correct format - it must be mm/dd/yy.
Also The transaction period is not an importable field, so don't worry about those numbers making sense - it's an internal Peachtree thing.
You might want to review the import/export field definition list in the help as there are a handful of other fields that are not importable.
I'm surprised you were able to import an invoice without a date. If you go to open existing invoices and choose to look for "all transactions" rather than a specific period, can you pull it up? If you can get it on the screen, you should be able to delete it.

Thanks you so much, Lisa.
But sorry I don't know how to delete the duplicate thread...
But after I changing the date like below, I still got prompted there's error on Field Date...What should I do now?
Date
08/31/07
8/31/07
08/31/2007
8/31/2007
All got failed...

Lisa, I can pull it up, but the 'delete' button is grey.
I can not delete it, and I pressed 'Void', no any prompt at all...
What's the problem?

To delete the duplicate thread, click the edit button and then you'll see the option to delete.
I have no idea what's going on with the invoice that has no date - very strange.
As for the import error - double check the order of the fields in your spreadsheet and make sure the fields are in the same order in your import definition.

Backup your data files and then try and print this document from REPORTS - Accounts Rec - Invoices. On the Filter Screen choose UNPRINTED Invoice through today (assuming that you do not have any other unprinted invoices). If the document prints then finalize it and you can then enter an offsetting Credit Memo referencing this invoice or if necessary enter a Customer Beg. Bal to offset it. Following which you can then go to Receipts and reconcile the two entries.

Lisa thank you very much...
About import, the data order should have no problem because I use the format that just exported form sales journal.
Any other solution?

Thank you Rick, did you mean if one invoice has not been printed it can not be credited?
I tried print the invoice, but I'm prompted 'there are no forms to print or e-mail.' What's the problem?
May I know what is 'Customer Beg. Bal '?

It SHOULD have no problem, but have you looked at it to verify?

Select the undated invoice and attempt to PRINT it from the data input screen.

Well you've made me curious. Why don't you upload a sample of your import file - just 1 or 2 transactions. You'll have to rename it with a .txt extension to upload it.

Hi, long time no see...hope you all still there.
Lisa, thanks for your kind suggestion, I attach a sample hereunder...I renamed the file name from .CSV to .TXT
I've ever imported customer profile successfully before. but always failed when the data contain 'date'...

OK, I think I got it! The date format on the import file needs to match the date format on your system (in Control Panel, Regional and Language options).
Your sample, with the date 10/31/2007, worked fine on my system which is set for US format dates.
I then switched my system to UK format with a date format 31/10/2007 and left the import file unchanged and I got the error.
So I changed the dates in the import file to match the UK format and it worked fine.
Just a side note - your sample had a bunch of unused columns - you can just eliminate those from your import file if you're never going to use them. Just be sure to exclude the same fields on the Peachtree side when you import.

Lisa, 555...Still now work...Still prompt me 'You cannot import transactions dated beyond the end of next year'...
I assume the date format exported from Peachtrree should be my system format, I checked Contral Panel also like that-->'2007/9/30'.
So I changed the import date to yyyy/m/dd too, but still failed...
I found one of your history post FYI... May help? Jyou know Jin Robinson @ASP Helpdesk, Inc.?
You have a MSN ID? Mine is 'ahbu945@163.com'...May we talk there some time?

When I changed my date settings to yyyy-mm-dd (I don't have the option to do yyyy/mm/dd) and changed the import file to match, I get the same error you get. So it must be that Peachtree can't handle that date format. It can do mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy but not yyyy-mm-dd
The workaround would be to switch your control panel date settings and fix it in the import file to make it work.

VIVA! Lisa, finally it works...
I think root problem is Chinese Windows. I test it on a PC with English version Windows, worked!
Thank you so much, kiss~~~
