I work with a volunteer organization and have to pull together eoy financial statements. We run on a cash basis, so throughout the year all I look at is cash transactions in the bank statements. For eoy, I need to generate some reports out of Peachtree (the accounting package that was handed off to me by the previous volunteer in this position).

I have downloaded all the bank transactions into a spreadsheet/csv file and added a column for the G/L account I'd like them to fall under. Would like to import the transactions into Peachtree.

I've read the help file, but can't seem to import the transactions. I have separated the cash receipts from the cash payments into two separate .csf files, each with 4 columns, and labled the columns with headings from Peachtree: Date Description Cash Amount G/L Account

When I go to import the cash receipts file, Peachtree says it can't open the file.

I know this is incredibly basic, but would be a tremendous help to me if I could import all the transactions.

Many thanks for any help.

The easiest way to get the import format right is to enter one transaction of each type in to Peachtree, and then export those journals (File - Select Import Export). Then you can open the CSV files and see what data needs to be in your file and in what order.

Got it - thanks. Still couldn't figure out the cash receipts one, so just turned everything into a journal transaction and got it imported that way. Many thanks.
