I 1997 I was new to computing. We used paper to keep our books in the store. We would write out a charge slip and place it in the customers file. If they had a return we would write out another slip with negitive amount and add up the tickets for the month and send the statement. I did not understand the credit memo in Peachtree for a year or better. So I was making an invoice with a negative sale for all returns. It worked to keep my acc rec in balance. But I have a lot of data that will not purge as a result. My question is if I rebuild the company and lable those accounts as inactive will this clean up the data that will not purge or will it still be there?
