peachtree 2006 im using 700meg..it takes 10mins to post an invoice

i know ican do purge,,but that wont help much...should i try quickbooks? will we have same prob?

Is this problem limited to a specific customer or vendor? You may have hit the transactional limit for any one vendor or customer. It may be necessary to mark the account INACTIVE and setup a new account.

An alternative solution would be to start a new company file using your existing copy of peachtree.

Have you tried the Purge wizard to see if it reduces the file enough to make it through the end of the year? Just remember to specify that you do NOT do bank recs in PT.

When performing a PURGE process it is necessary to indicate that you do not need to do bank recs. To do otherwise, will prevent the purging of any and all cash related transactions related to the Cash accounts that you indicate. In turn, all transactions that preceded the cash transactions can not be purged either, including Inactive accounts.

Purging of all accounts will NOT interfer with your abiltity to do Account Reconcilation for current activities. Purging can not purge open transactions or any transactions in open years, only closed transactions in closed years.
