Description for assets in Peachtree Fixed Assets too short!!

The description for assets in PFA is too short. Is there a way to have it lengthened? Is it also possible to include additional fields such as brand name and model #?

Field lengths are fixed, in the same fashion as your refrigerator has a certain height and width that can't be changed.

One possible avenue for you is that Peachtree will soon be releasing a "lite" version of Best Software's FAS software...this should give you much more flexibility on the fixed assets front, but will likely require upgrading to Peachtree 2003 when it's released. Peachtree is owned by Best (f/k/a Sage). Keep an eye on the Peachtree web site for more details.
