View Full Version : G/L Acct Description doesn't show

We have just upgraded to 2008 Complete Accounting...on Invoicing screens, Bill entry, A/R Payment, (pretty much anywhere I think) the g/l acct description does not display along with the g/l acct number. I could have sworn that it was visible on previous version. Now I have to click on the drop-down menu to be sure the acct number is correct since I haven't memorized that many of the accts yet (10 companies all with different chart of accts and only been a Peachtree user for about 6 months). Is there an option to turn this feature on that I am missing or is the acct# the only thing visible? Very annoying!

Options/Global/Hide General Ledger Accounts. Is this what your are looking for?

No I don't want to hide the g/l acct numbers, I want to see them but I wish to see the description on screen as well.

Using what JR mentioned, "Options/Global/Hide General Ledger Accounts" will solve most of your problem. By default, Peachtree CHECKS the box and hides the GL information. You have to UNCHECK the box to get the information to show. Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to get the description to show also.

Go to OPTIONS - GLOBAL - GENERAL Tab and click on the Show "2 Line "Entry. The second line is the description line that you are seeking.

As previously instructed go to OPTIONS - GLOBAL - ACCOUNTING Tab and remove any check marks adjacent to AR, AP, PR etc.under the heading HIDE.

These settings are personal to each user and each work station / computer.

I wish they would make the 2 line display the default!
