Did you disable all Firewalls such as MS Windows Firewall, Norton / McAfee / Trend / etc or any other Firewall software, before attempting to install Peachtree? Strange error messages such as yours typically are related to installation conflicts with installed Firewall software. Occassionally, the problem can be related to an Anti-Virus or Adware/Spyware software running on the computer. This is the arena that is highly suspect in your situation.

Rick, we have removed everthing from the MS config. and re-started the system with nothing running. I tryed to install the system earlier and it stopped in the middle of installation. That is when I got some help from someone of knows my system better than me. So, I could have tryed to install with some of these firewalls running. The guy helping me wanted to know if there is some way to remove all traces of peachtree from my system and try to install it again fresh? Thank you so much for your help.

Download the Windows Clean Up utiltiy from Microsofts website.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
after installing the utility go to start -- all programs --windows clean up
run the utility and if Peachtree shows - remove with this utility.
then remove from add - remove programs if any entries show.
remove the Complete 2005 also if it show.
delete the Peachtree keys in the registry under
HKeyLocalMachine Software and HKeyCurrent user Software
delete any Peachtree release 10 or 15 keys also if they are found.
Next - delete the Peachtree ini files. The one for Complete 2005
will be called pcw120.ini and if one exist for 2008 it will be called pcw150.ini
they are located in the C:\Windows Directory.
Then reload Peachtree and point to a new program path and point the
data to the proper place. The program path will default to
C:\ProgramFiles\SageSoftware\Peachtree
but you can manually change this during the installation.
