We are a manufacturer. We purchase several raw material items from a given vendor with a truckload freight charge of say $2000 is added to the PO for delivery. I dont want to change the line item cost in the purchase order for each item because we reference the cost for the next PO and the freight varies for each shipment, so how can I capture the inbound freight cost for each raw material component for an item and ultimately in the bill of materials? Please also consider we have over 20,000 items with BOM's.
Also, my overhead is 1.5x my labor cost. for every $1.00 in labor there is $1.50 in overhead. At other companies, this overhead cost was automatically added to the bill of material cost and you simply set your overhead rate in a global setting. How do I capture overhead costs in Peachtree bill of materials?
