Hi.
we're using Peachtree 2007 at the college I work for, and we're running into some issues with getting it to work as network users with a mandatory user profile (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307800).
Let me clarify:
Peachtree works wonderfully as any user that does not download a mandatory profile from our servers (this includes users local to a machine as well as our network staff accounts), but it throws back a an Unknown PAWEncrypt error when trying to create a company as a network user that uses a mandatory profile. This presents major problems to us since all of our student accounts are set up to use a mandatory profile.
When trying to create a company as a user that uses a mandatory profile, the installation fails at 65%. I've used Process Monitor from SysInternals and have found that the error occurs just after trying to use some Cryptography stuff related to the user profile (presumably to encrypt company files somehow). We're also about 100% certain that this is directly related to the mandatory profile because we can always get the error to either appear or go away depending on whether or not we use a mandatory profile.
Does anyone have any realistic suggestions for how we might be able to get around this (i.e., we cannot simply change the way our network works immediately)? We've got a rudimentary run-around that uses the runas command to open Peachtree as another user, but this presents problems of its own. When Peachtree is opened as another user, it no longer has access to the 'real' user's network documents folder. Thus, files can't be saved there. It also doesn't have access to the network printer that's in the classroom, as that printer is mapped during the login process.
Has anyone tackled this issue before and come out successfully?
Thanks,
