We have had a number of requests for on-line information for accounting year 2000, however, Peachtree can only have two years open at a time, requiring us to purge the old year when a new one comes up. As a result, we have 2001 and 2002 available now, but not 2000. Any ideas as to why it is this way or how to get around it?

Probably the simplest work-around is to copy your company files to a new company name (i.e., 2001 Herbs) BEFORE you do period-end processing. Once you've done it, it's gone forever, unless you have a backup to restore from.

You are not required to purge old data. When you close the year in Peachtree, data before the previous year is retained for viewing. You just can't edit this older data.

Thanks for the input. We were aware of the ability to open a new company name, but did not know that old files did not need to be purged after closing the year. That's how we'll do it from now on.
