clear old entry

We use PT 2008 complete accounting. I have an old entry from 2005 that I am trying to clear out-there should be no credit or debit on the account. Aged Rec. shows 275.39 in one column and -275.39 in another column, which equals zero.
Receipts= 275.39. Customer ledger = 275.39. I can drill down on some reports but cannot delete or change 2005 transactions. Is there a way to do this?

When accessing Tasks - Receipts and selecting the proper Customer ID, do the two entries show on the screen? If so enter a Receipt reference i.e. Reconcile, and check off the two entries. This should then show a receipt amount of 0.00. Save the Receipt and this should resolve the issue.

No, the credit does not show in the receipts screen. Only the debit of 275.39 appears.

Run the Data Verification Process. Click on FILE and DATA VERIFICATION, follow the prompts and accept all of the default settings. Review the log file when finished.
