Classic v12 PDQ Network Print on Win 2k

I'm able to print w/o any problem in Peachtree but the printer setup is different in PDQ. It seems to be DOS-based requiring a LPT1 (for example). Windows 2000 doesn't appear to let me associate a "LPT1" for a network printer for DOS-based programs (Win 98 did). I don't understand why one part of Peachtree lets me point to the network printer (\\server\hp) while PDQ doesn't. Sorry for my ignorance. I would appreciate any help.

Why exactly can't you map to the network printer?

I would connect the network printer directly to your computer, then test it... if it works, then try by all means to map your computer to the network drive.
